Bell broke a scoreless tie early in the second half and held on to beat Abilene High in the District 3-6A finale for both boys teams Friday in Hurst.

Both teams had already clinched playoff berths and couldn't finish any higher. Bell won the district title and will be the district's No. 1 seed, while AHS (8-5-9, 8-3 with three shootout wins and a shootout loss, 22 points) will be the third seed.

The Eagles will play Arlington Bowie at 6 p.m. Thursday in a first-round playoff game in Granbury.

AHS goalie Anthony Ramirez had four saves for the Eagles, who took 11 shots and put three on frame.
